I am writing this letter to express our thanks and appreciation to Deborah Foster-Stahle for her kind donation of a one year membership in the BNI Synergistics chapter.

As a non-profit charitable organization we truly appreciate the opportunity to connect with members of the business community in a new way through referral marketing. Since joining the group in the spring of 2009 we have made many wonderful new connections with local businesses and anticipate these relationships will grow.

The structure of BNI provides a great way to network and promote our organization. Through this group we have recruited a new board member and have already received many referrals of support for our upcoming Coffee Break from within this group. We know that members of the chapter will also be telling their contacts about this fundraiser. What a terrific way to increase our network of supporters!

As an added benefit of our membership in BNI our organization was selected to receive a portion of the proceeds from the 2009 BNI golf tournament. These funds will be used to help support the programs and services we provide in Grey and Bruce counties for persons with dementia and their caregivers.

In our recent training it became evident to me that your vast knowledge of the BNI system of referral marketing and the integration of the principles that make all this work was something you are passionate about. I could tell you were not only giving us the surface version of all that could be learned and it has made me curious as to what you might know. Your presentation and energy were excellent. Deborah, I want to share my experiences with you regarding the BNI NetSki Day (took place on Feb 4 2010 at Osler Bluff Ski Club in Collingwood - 90+ business people attended!).

First of all what a perfect day - the venue, the weather, the workshops and more importantly the networking opportunities, both in the club house and on the slopes!

In fact, the true purpose of BNI presented itself to me first thing in the morning as I got a referral to do a home inspection. It now has been sheduled for Monday!

When I started my Virtual Assistant business, I assumed I would be working with clients all over the world, and that the bulk of my clients would find me through my website. I really was not sure that BNI was for me - but I tried it and I am proud to say that I have been a member for about 1.5 years, and BNI now accounts for about 80% of my long-term retainer client base. Since I joined BNI, my business has grown by 19%. Most of my new clients come from word of mouth marketing, and they are better qualified, and within my target market. I learned that I don't have to rely solely on Google Ad Words, SEO tools and all the traditional marketing tactics that many of my competitors in the Virtual Assistance industry do. I run a vibrant and profitable VA business with a clientele that is over 60% local to my area. I could not be happier with all the positive changes my business has seen because of BNI. I am a fairly recent BNI member, having only joined in March of this year (2006), however, I have already seen my business grow significantly as a result. I had known of BNI for some time but had always hesitated in joining because of the financial investment and commitment in time. Since March though, I've discovered how valuable BNI can be. Already, in only 6 short months, I have earned back my initial investment tenfold through the referrals that I've received. Not only that but I greatly look forward to the camraderie and peer support that I get along with the sound business advice every week at the meetings. Too often as entrepreneurs we spend so much time working IN our business that we forget to work ON our business. BNI gives me that opportunity to work on my business on a weekly basis while making valuable connections with like-minded individuals in a structured and professional environment.

If it were not for BNI, I would never have had the nerve or idea to start my own business when I was laid off from my "day job".
I was only commuting to this city to work, not even a resident here, when my "employer " asked me to sub at a meeting for her. One meeting and I was hooked! I knew this was a community I wanted to live and work in. As fate would have it I was laid off shortly after I relocated, but voila here I am self employed and loving it; in a warm community surrounded by my supportive BNI chapter members. I mix and mingle with the other BNI groups here too and I have never ever felt like I have ARRIVED HOME the way I have here. I wish I had known about BNI in my other cities of residence. Thank you BNI for my new home and my successful new career.
